Menno R. Kamminga

Menno R. Kamminga is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Relations and International Organization at the University of Groningen. His research and teaching interests broadly concern the tensions between ‘utopia’ and ‘reality’ and between ‘universalism’ and ‘particularism’, and include the ethics of foreign policy and global society, international relations theory, and methodology of international relations. He has published many theoretical and philosophical academic articles (in English and Dutch) on a variety of topics, including Kenneth Waltz’s neorealist theory of international politics, Reinhold Niebuhr’s Christian realism, John Rawls’s Law of Peoples, Thomas Pogge’s ethics of world poverty, Amitai Etzioni’s socio-economics and communitarianism, Michael Novak’s economic theology, freedom of religion, ritual slaughter, prudence in international politics, and climate justice.
