Eric Patterson spoke at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, about how just war thinking can provide analysis on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Dr. Gordon Middleton gave the introduction and interviewed Patterson.

Eric Patterson, Ph.D., is executive vice president of the Religious Freedom Institute in Washington, DC, and past dean of the School of Government at Regent University. His expertise, informed by time at the US Department of State and in the military, is on the intersection of war, conflict, and the ethics of security. He is the author or editor of 15 books, including Just American Wars, Politics in a Religious World, and Ending Wars Well.

Gordon R. Middleton is the director of the Strategic Intelligence Program at Patrick Henry College, in Purcellville, Virginia, where he has taught for the past 16 years. He retired from the US Air Force in the rank of colonel and served in senior civilian positions in multiple government agencies.
