In light of the national travesty which occurred on January 6, the behavior of the various insurrectionists has frequently been pinned on an ideology which has come to be called “Christian Nationalism.” But what is Christian Nationalism, exactly? And where did it come from?
Paul Miller will address Providence Magazine and The Institute on Religion and Democracy to talk about these themes from his book, The Religion of American Greatness. Miller, a Christian scholar, political theorist, veteran, and former White House staffer, argues that the particular ideology of Christian Nationalism, more than just comprising healthy Christian political engagement, is a destructive ideology that is fundamentally at odds with the American experiment and Constitution.
Come join Providence and IRD to hear Miller discuss his book on August 15 at 6:30 PM ET, with refreshments available at 6:00 PM ET. All invitees are encouraged to bring guests. Tickets to attend the event are $10, and can be purchased here. We look forward to seeing you there!
Providence Magazine is the only publication devoted to Christian Realism in American foreign policy and is entirely funded by donor contributions. There are no advertisements, sponsorships, or paid posts to support the work of Providence, just readers who generously partner with Providence to keep our magazine running. If you would care to make an end-of-year donation it would be highly appreciated to help Providence in advancing the Christian realist perspective in 2024. Thank you!
