Mark V. Vlasic
Mark V. Vlasic, a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Law & Public Policy at Georgetown University and Senior Fellow at Massey College in the University of Toronto, is Founder and Chair of the International, Philanthropy, & Family Office practices at Madison Law & Strategy Group. He is Executive Producer of the action-adventure series BLOOD & TREASURE for CBS/Paramount/AmazonPrime, having served as a pro bono advisor to the UNSECO Director-General on “blood antiquities” issues, and as the World Bank’s Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative’s first Head of Operations. Appointed by President George W. Bush as a White House Fellow, he served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense. He practiced law at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and served on the Milosevic/Srebrenica genocide prosecution teams in The Hague and on the U.S. Delegation to the Pan Am 103 “Lockerbie” bombing trial. As a U.S. Army officer, Mark was attached to the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Embassy in The Hague, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Knighted by the Vatican and the Ethiopian Crown, awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service by Secretary Gates, Mark is a Senior Peace Fellow with the Public International Law & Policy Group, and an ITAC advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. An inaugural member of the WEF’s Faith in Action Advisory Board, Mark is Chairman of the LAPD Leadership Advisory Board and serves on the advisory boards of the U.S. Institute of Peace, the Center on Sanctions & Illicit Finance, and the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art. He is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and studied at Georgetown (B.S. and J.D.) and Leiden University (NAF-Fulbright Scholar). He is also a Contributing Editor with Providence.
