On November 1–2, 2019, at the Army Navy Club in Washington, DC, Providence hosted its annual two-day conference on historical Christian teaching about God’s purpose for government, starting with its vocation for security and public order. The conference included leading scholars and practitioners of political theology and national security. They addressed issues such as the just war tradition, nuclear weapons, Reinhold Niebuhr, Christian Realism, nationalism, international human rights, religious liberty, American exceptionalism, torture, and terrorism.

Providence's biggest event of the year takes place the final Thursday and Friday of each October, attracting close to 100 students and professors from around the country to spend two days hearing lectures and discussing the intersection of Christian ethics and foreign policy.
